In this eight-week class, Kate will guide beginners through exercises in four different hand-building techniques -- pinching, coiling, slab-building and carving -- before assisting students in developing projects of their own. Lessons are accompanied by packets of readings and artist examples to invite students to consider the broader value and possible applications of the techniques.
