Lizzie Butler is Director of Clayhouse Brooklyn. She manages the inner-workings of the studio and oversees teaching, staffing, course registry, clay supplies, classes, special workshops and events. She is also a wheel instructor, designer, photographer, and creator of Sea Salt Water ceramics. Forever inspired by the sea, her work is influenced by the experience of growing up on “The Forgotten Coast” in Florida. With an education in the arts and professional experience in design, she is captivated by how clay provides the means to meld the need for both artistic creativity and practical functionality. Lizzie enjoys introducing beginners to the world of ceramics and helping more advanced students discover their style and voice in such a versatile medium.
